John 21:5-6 – He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
This passage intrigues me!
The disciples had just finished a grueling night of fishing and had nothing to show for it! I’m sure they were dumbfounded after trying every technique that seemed to work for them in the past but to no avail!
It all changed when they allowed Jesus to take the lead!!
I can relate to this so much in the natural because I have been fishing many times with my husband. He loves to fish, and he’s good at it! Many times I failed to catch anything because I was preoccupied with doing it MY OWN WAY! It wasn’t until I got tired of watching my husband catch all the fish that I humbled myself and asked him for fishing advice! It helped, and things quickly changed!
The best LEADERS are FOLLOWERS!!!
It’s the same way in the Kingdom of God. How many times have we attempted to do things for God in our own strength but failed to invite Him into what we were doing?
It’s God’s idea and great pleasure that we bear much fruit! ABIDE IN HIM!
Prayer is EVERYTHING!
