Psalm 28:6-7 – Blessed be the LORD, Because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.

Psalm 28 begins with a prayer and ends with an answer! In fact, in my Bible, Psalm 28 is titled, “Rejoicing in answered prayer!”

How did David thank God for answering his prayer? With a SONG!

“And with my SONG I will praise HIM!” (28:7)

We all have a song in our hearts to praise the Lord with! We sing because we’re thankful, not because we feel like it! If you cannot muster up a song in your heart to God, could it be because you are forgetting to be thankful? Something to ponder on!

If the devil can get you to focus on what you’re lacking, what’s going wrong, and the prayers that are not being answered, he can SILENCE the song in your heart!

I understand more clearly why Paul instructed us to rejoice ALWAYS in 1 Thessalonians 5! It wasn’t because Paul was free of trials or negative circumstances; it was because Paul knew how to be THANKFUL for the never-ending list of what God had already done!

Sing because of WHAT HE’S DONE, WHAT HE’S DOING, and WHAT HE’LL DO!!

Bring Him your SONG,
