Hebrews 13:15 – Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
Last week as we gathered with our team, we talked a lot about the power of THANKSGIVING! It’s a theme we feel God has highlighted to us for quite some time. Constantly giving God our thanks has been a guidepost we’ve tried our best to adhere to at Nations!
Continually means without interruption!
When we feel like it and even when we don’t!!
Let’s be honest, we won’t always FEEL like praising God but He’s ALWAYS worthy of our PRAISE!!! That’s why it’s called a sacrifice of praise!
It’s SO easy to thank God when we are on the mountaintop but HOW is our praise when we’re in the valley?! Does it change when we are having a tough day?
Can you imagine if God changed like that with us?! If He withheld His love and affection from us just because He wasn’t feeling it that day?!
Puts things in a whole new perspective, doesn’t it?!
Sometimes our greatest praise should rise up out of our greatest struggle!
God no longer requires animal sacrifices from His people; Jesus took care of that once and for all on the cross! But what God DOES DESIRE is a sacrifice of thanksgiving bubbling up from our lips!!
When God hears our mouth acknowledge how thankful we are for ALL HE has done for us, it’s like a pleasing aroma to HIM and a beautiful song of praise!
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound in His ear,
