Isaiah 40:31 – But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.
I can relate to this scripture so much right now because Mike and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary!
Our goal was to get off the grid and cherish some undistracted time together. It’s been both sentimental and refreshing! One thing we believe in after 30 years of marriage is the benefit and value of slowing down!
It’s even more important in our walk with God! Sadly, many people don’t understand the profit of contently waiting on anything these days. The modern world has become so fast-paced that if we don’t swim upstream in this, we’ll easily get sucked into the vortex of busyness.
What does it mean to WAIT on God?
One of my favorite definitions of the word is to LINGER! To linger means to stay in a place longer than necessary because of a reluctance to leave. It also means to be slow to disappear.
Some of our recent favorite moments have been spending time lingering with Jesus in the prayer room at Nations House of Prayer!
Those moments have been so precious to us!
We all NEED time and space just to be together with our Savior! Never be in a hurry to leave His presence because you think you need to rush into the next thing on your agenda. Instead, pause and allow the Holy Spirit to breathe fresh joy and strength over you!
There is nothing more productive for your spirit, soul, and body than to wait on Him!
