Mark 14:3 — And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head.
The WOMAN with the ALABASTER BOX!
She’s mentioned OFTEN!
She’s inspired MANY!
As I dug deeper into this passage, I was overwhelmed by her depth of assurance of WHO her Lord was!
The name of the oil she poured out was called spikenard. The word spikenard means TRUST and BELIEF.
When the woman broke her alabaster flask, the word BROKE meant she crushed it completely! SHE WITHHELD NOTHING!!!
What an amazing picture of salvation! She was pledging ALL of her trust and ALL of her belief to Jesus! What TOTAL DEVOTION!!!
The next thing I found was glorious!
The passage states that she poured the spikenard NOT on his feet but on His HEAD!
Head here means SUPREMACY!!
Supreme is to be ABOVE every other!!
The woman with the Alabaster box met the man who was ABOVE every other man! She was SO sure of it that she took every ounce of her trust and every ounce of her belief, and she crushed it completely, emptying it out upon His head, HER HEADSHIP, her EVERYTHING!!!
