1 Samuel 30:6 – Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Do you know how to encourage yourself in the Lord?

David was facing a very painful situation and was greatly distressed! His village, including his family members, had been captured, and he was worried, anxious, and frightened!

He could have easily given up hope or frozen in fear. Instead, he strengthened himself in the Lord!

Being able to encourage yourself in the Lord might be the most valuable ability a Christian possesses!

That wouldn’t have happened had David not treasured the PROMISES of God and the Presence of God! Those were the wells he frequented often and drew from daily!

Those are the wells that will sustain you also!

There is a difference between people encouraging you and you encouraging yourself in the Lord!

I’ve seen an intense multiplication over the years of inner healing and counseling more than in years past. The demand seems higher than ever before. I’m here for it as long as those seeking wholeness and healing are being taught how to encourage themselves in the Lord! Lasting freedom and wholeness is found in the Word of God and in the presence of God!

May we tap that well MORE than any!!

You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free! John 8:32

As David reflected, meditated upon, and proclaimed aloud the character and promises of God, He found courage!!

The Lord is my strength and my shield: in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song I will praise Him! –Psalm 28:7
