Colossians 3:16 — Let the [spoken] word of God have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
You’ll always have a SONG in your heart when the WORD OF GOD has a HOME in your heart!
Colossians 3:16 is such a rich and essential scripture!
There is potential for so much LIFE to flow out of you, so much wisdom and counsel, and so much JOY simply by allowing God’s Word to DWELL in you deeply!
Dwelling means to LIVE IN or to OCCUPY a place of settled residence. Think about that!!
Your home is something you live in DAILY. The word of God should be the same! It should automatically be that daily refuge and SHELTER in your life!
In order for that to be the norm, you must give the Bible space and place in your heart consistently! Learn to REST beneath its canopy daily!
Allow it to permeate your soul and mind in all its fullness, and then, like at home, kick back, relax, and enjoy its benefits!
Never walk away from wisdom — she guards your life; love her — she keeps her eye on you. Above all and before all, do this: Get Wisdom! Write this at the top of your list: Get Understanding! Throw your arms around her — believe me, you won’t regret it; never let her go — she’ll make your life glorious.
