Psalm 40:3 – He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.
In Psalm 40, David was giving glory to God for flipping his situation around! God had pulled him out of a deep PIT and placed his feet upon a firm and secure foundation!
Suddenly, David went from darkness to light, from despair to rejoicing, and from mourning to dancing !! Gratitude bubbled up out of his heart because of it!!
The NEW song within David’s mouth was his STORY! He sang of what God had done in his life! His transformation was SO powerful that when people saw it, they thought, “There MUST be a GOD!”
The word NEW song (Chadash), when translated, means FRESH or NEW THING.
I love that because it wasn’t a ONE-and-DONE song! NO, it’s a fresh, recurring song of praise because God is ALWAYS moving in our lives!!
We all have a NEW song to sing! It’s our story of how God delivered us from _____ (fill in the blank!)
So sing your song and tell your story! He’s been THAT GOOD to you!!!
