Psalm 63:5-6 – My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, when I remember You upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night.
My soul shall be satisfied as with FAT and RICH FOOD!?! Some versions read, “MORE than the richest FEAST!” Surprisingly, David penned Psalm 63 while he was in a WILDERNESS!?!!
“My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.” –Psalm 63:1
While David was in the midst of famine, he knew how to have a spiritual feast!
Having JOY and HOPE while walking through a trial is not easy! David had his share of difficulties. But somehow, he allowed every valley to push him further into the arms of the one who rescues and saves (God!)
Someone once said, “We TALK about God on the mountaintop, but we EXPERIENCE Him in the valley!”
Experience was one of David’s greatest teachers! Through hardship and many lonely days, he developed the art of finding God anywhere! “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.”(Ps. 63:6)
God was his TOTAL dependence! His EVERYTHING!
Aren’t you glad there is a place we can run to any time to find comfort and peace?!
It’s called the presence of God! It’s there where our souls are truly satisfied and where we learn to SING no matter what!
