Revelation 2:4 – But I have this [charge] against you, that you have left your first love [you have lost the depth of love that you first had for Me].
What a tear-jerker! Those are words I hope I never hear, but words I know I’ve been guilty of at one time or another!
FIRST LOVE means to be first in RANK, ORDER of IMPORTANCE, and BEFORE ALL!!!
Jesus YEARNS for communion with us and longs to be FIRST on the list! He warns us of the thorns that could potentially choke out that kind of love.
“As for the seed that fell among thorny plants, these are the ones who, as they go about their lives, are choked by the concerns, riches, and pleasures of life, and their fruit never matures.” –Luke 8:14
May the flame of our hearts always be lit!
