Mark 12:33 – To love him with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.

The Great Commandment is more superior and more excellent than any song or gift we could present to God!

To love God with ALL of our hearts is really very intimate! Our hearts encompass the innermost part of who we are. When studying the Word, we discover that the heart is the seat of our affections, emotions, desires, passions, purposes, and endeavors.

Are you SO in love with Jesus that you’ve given Him the KEY to them ALL? He deserves it!

David says in 2 Samuel 24:24, “I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”

I love David’s words because they point back to the type of worship God seeks. Worship is not just singing songs! Genuine worship inhabits an obedient heart! A heart that is SO in love with the Father that it’s willing to bow the seat of its affections at His feet in surrender to His will!

The Great Commandment is not about earning God’s love; it’s about loving Him with ALL of ours! Sometimes that’s costly!

I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice — the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him (Romans 12:1).
